Its a great rod that can cover just about everything a feeder rod needs to do. The super high modulus blank has excellent casting power, but is tempered with a progressive, smooth anti-lock action which allows a much wider range of tackle to be used.
This rod has no problems coping with hard fighting species like carp and barbel, where control is vital. The specialist feeder 12ft really is a 'go anywhere' feeder rod that's suited to a wide variety of river and stillwater situations, with a reserve of casting power for launching all types of feeders a long way.
The Hardy Anti-Lock fish-playing action allows a wide choice of reel lines and hooklengths to be used and is mellow enough for soft mouthed skimmers and bream. The rod is supplied with 2oz 3oz and 4oz quivertips, though stillwater anglers fishing for bream have the option of purchasing softer tips if neccessary.

Just like the marksman specimen float rod i use the specialist feeder is probably the nicest feeder rod out there after landing and christening the rod with a 14lb barbel on the trent a couple of weeks back covinced me that there realy isnt anything els in the marksman feeder's class for that sort of outlay. i was actualy at first going to opt for the 13ft spcimen,but i do tend to fish more still waters than rivers these days so opted for the less powerfull specialist, even though as stated, I landed a river barbell using its 4oz quiver with absolutly wonderfull playing action.
